How do I stand out in the job market, as an entrepreneur, or in pursuing my career goals? How do I get the position I want? How do I succeed? How do I build enough confidence in working life? What will I become after graduation?

This online course, tailored to the needs and wishes of business students, is now available in English for the first time! The course is part of the curriculum at all Finnish and Swedish-speaking universities offering business education. Read more and sign up!

After completing the course, you will:

Recognize your professional skills and strengths
Have created feedback-curated and distinctive expert brand, LinkedIn profile, CV, application, and elevator pitch
Know how to use different job search channels effectively
Have learned how to network with the right people

During the course, you will also have the opportunity to discuss and share experiences, ideas, and tips with other business students in the course’s virtual Howspace workspace. The course is led by career coaches from the Finnish Business School Graduates M.Sc. (Econ.) Taija Keskinen and M.Sc. (Econ.) Anton Pajoslahti.

After completing the course, you will receive 2 ECTS and an Open Badge, which you can optionally add to your LinkedIn profile. These are granted upon completing the required online assignments. The course does not include any mandatory live sessions. Complete this course at your own pace by submitting weekly assignments. The course is graded on a pass/fail basis.

The course is open to all business students, but it is especially recommended for those in their third year or above.

Note: The course is free of charge and only open to degree students at business schools (at the University of Jyväskylä, also to Information Systems students). Please note that the course is also offered in Finnish, and credits will be granted only for one version of the course.

If you are not a student member of the Finnish Business School Graduates, you can register for the course using this form. Credit transfers will be processed in the same way as indicated in the university-specific form.

After the course, students shall apply for the credits to be transferred to optional studies at their respective university with the certificate of completion provided by Ekonomit.

Ekonomit will transfer the credits directly to university and students who pass the course get their credits automatically. The course is available only to degree students.

Business students who complete the course successfully can apply to have it recognized as the LUT course “Find Your Career.” (Credits will be added automatically by the university, and students do not need to submit separate applications for credit transfer.) NOTE: To receive credits, students must be registered for the LUT course A130A1500 Find Your Career.

To receive the credits, the student must be registered for the course JSBY5530 Kylterin asiantunijabrändi. Students who complete the course successfully will be awarded the credits automatically.

Students who successfully complete the course will receive separate instructions for applying for recognition of learning in Peppi. NB! The credits of this course cannot be included in the basic and intermediate studies nor as part of a master's degree. However, they may be included in the elective studies module in a bachelor's degree.

The university will automatically record the credits for students who complete the course. No action is required from the students. The course can be accepted as part of optional studies (in a bachelor’s/master’s degree), but it can be counted toward internship credits only up to a maximum of 10 ECTS credits within the degree.
