Welcome to the launch of the Buddy Programme!

With this new community program we aim to pair together members who want to meet and connect with others, especially internationals, and offer each other the comfort of going to events with a buddy.

How do I get a buddy?

First you need to register for the Buddy Programme. When applying to the program, you will be asked to fill in some information about you and what kind of buddy you are looking for.

• similar age or not
• same gender or not
• amount of events you'd like to attend per year
• languages you are willing to speak with your buddy

The less strict your preferences are, the more likely it is that you will find a buddy, especially when it comes to language.

Registrants will by default be paired with members of the same member association to facilitate attending association-produced events together.

What happens after I have filled in the application form for the Buddy Programme?

Applicants will be informed about a spot in the Buddy Programme and paired with 1-5 fitting potential buddies. 

On June 18th we organize the first meeting for buddies, where you will have the chance to meet the potential buddies you have been preliminary paired with by speed-friending them for 10 minutes each.

"Speed-friending" means that every pair of potential buddies will have 10mins to chat and get to know each other. Then we will switch pairs for another 10mins, again and again, until all pairs have had a chance to chat.

At the end of the event you can inform the organisers with whom you would like to be buddy with. The final buddy pairs will be communicated the week after the event. 

Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic, cocktails, etc.) will be offered at a discounted price for all attendees at the launch event. 

Please note - this is a pre-registration only.

Registering does not guarantee a buddy. Please do note that the first meeting on June 18th is mandatory, please do not apply to the Buddy Programme if you cannot be present on that date.

Only applicants for whom we have identified potential buddies will be formally invited by email to meet on the 18th of June. The exact location for the meeting will be revealed in the invitation email. Registration is open only for Heko, Niord and Flex members.
